Mage which is better staff or wand

I’ve played with both the staff is stronger and the wand isn’t the best but its prob because I haven’t played wit it as much or found any good one also should I invest in endurance or strength as a mage I currently have never

I'm kinda new to the game too. I played a mage up to level 7, then something new and shiny came out and I totally forgot about the game till now. I've rolled a new mage and have gone with Ice Storm, Staff, and Lightning for level one and two and I picked up Fireball and the mana surge for level 3. This game appears to be monstrous, so I think we're in for a great ride. Love everything I've seem from this so far.

One suggestion if you haven't explored much is to visit one map east of the starting town. There is something on that map that might assist new mages.
