I underatand your wish, but the ark appears designed as a solo challenge. If a companion could deal the final blow to a killer robot, get incapacitated in the explosion, and then reawaken a few moments later to repeat the process all over again, the game balance might suffer. The ark can sometimes seem too hard, but a companion could make the ark seem too easy.
