Help with the snake gang. Did i mess up?

So when you go in the abandon tower and get trapped by the snake gang i wasnt prepared for an ambush so i teleported out of there to the nearest village. My question is did i mess up cause i have been in there since then and havent seen the snake gang or anywhere else. How can i get the shard from the bank if i dont meet up with the snake gang? :|

I'm a little confused about your description. When you say "abandon tower" you're referring to the Snake Gang hideout right? Also, what does your journal say about the status of the quest? That might help determine what quest triggers have been met...

It says i confronted the snake gang in their lair in emerald valley

That's it? No other bit about where to go next? Do you have a screen shot of the exact wording?

I'm getting concerned that you may have triggered and failed the combat route making the quest in un-completable limbo. Are you sure you can't get through the door again with another round of venom?

It looks like the next step is to get through that red door in the cave buti dont know what poison to use whatever it is i dont have it i think its a giant snake posion but i havent been able to pick one up in long time

Yea Its the one that gives +whatever to rogues blade which i already have but when im at the door nothing happens

At that point, the door won't open again and the quest can't be completed but you can restore from either your autosave or quicksave. If you have overwritten both after recalling, as well as other manual saves, then nothing can be done.

However, the black shards can be obtained from random bosses so Shards of Fate will always be compeltable. Maybe in the future I can design a way to complete the quest after recalling from the hostile encounter, but I can't guarantee it.

Maybe an option of reporting the results could be available? Since governor isn't a nice guy, and Snake gang is elusive, this should end in a failure, and with appropiate entry in diary, something like:

Chancellor Mallard wasn't happy to hear, that Snake gang got away. After I escaped from confrontation, they are nowhere to be found. Time to find other shards.
