This thread covers the Zamohr mountain run for high medium to high level players. This is the full montey, covering all that falls in this section of the map which includes environment, Nilorth cave, and Blue Rock Castle. I also go over NPCs, their levels, and the experience they give.
As a player who is lvl23 with +5 intelligence, as well as on Hard difficulty, I'll post the XP given for my toon. So,with that said, I'll begin with:

Zamohr mountains environment
Number of NPCs - 49
Number of Traps- 6-10
Number of chests- 3

NPCs
Lvl 9 Outlaws- 32 (XP 55)
Lvl10 white wolves- 6 (XP 68)
Lvl12 Wyverns- 2 (XP 97)
Lvl10-12 traps - 6 (unknown- I do my own traps but am not up to necessary lvl to do these)

Total XP- 2200-2400
Total gold- 1500-2200 (with sale of items found)

NOTES
Pretty straight forward. No real resistance needed save for projectile defence. Aside from that, the traps are high lvl and hard to pick unless you're a rogue or using one as a companion. The NPCs in this environment respawn within 6 in-game hours so if you're looking to dump your pack before heading into Nilthorn or BRC do it quickly.

Nilthorn Cave
Number of NPCs- 33
Number of Traps- 1
Number of chests- 5

NPCs
Lvl11 ice drake- 3 (XP 81)
Lvl10 icylon- 5 (XP 45)
Lvl10 white wolves- 10 (XP 55)
Lvl10 mad monk- 14 (XP 68)
Lvl12 mad master- 1 (XP 185)

Total XP- 2000-2300
Total gold 800-1000

An easy run if you're looking for bonus loot from this map. Frost resistance is advised but not really necessary, as only a fraction of the NPCs in this cave attack with frost damage. A good place to loot frost potions and sapphires.

Blue Rock Castle
Number of NPCs- 82
Number of Traps- 7-10
Number of chests- 15

NPCs
Lvl9-12 Outlaws- 34 (XP 55)
Lvl12 Elite Archers- 9 (XP 97)
Lvl12 Outlaw Chief- 1 (XP 185)
Lvl9 skeletal archers- 1 (XP 55)
Lvl 11 skeletal champion- 3 (XP 97)
Lvl 11 Varannari witch- 5 (XP 81)
Lvl12 Nightblade- 9 (XP 97)
Lvl10 dire wolves- 3 (XP 37)
Lvl11 Legion deserter's- 10 (XP 97)
Lvl10 Jailers- 5 (XP 68)
Lvl12 Decurion deserter- 1 (XP 276)
Lvl12 bandit king- 1 (XP 315)

Total XP- 6200-6700
Total gold- 7500-8000

NOTES
I've come across a lot of players who rave about this run as being one of the best for high level characters, and for good reason. The XP and loot drops are bar none some of the best in the game per instance. However, the gamut to get there is tedious and will take some getting used to in order to make it to the castle without popping however many potions or extra recoveries. Then, upon entry, you have to race through the main hall under a hail of arrows from 8 outlaw archers and through 3 melee outlaws and 2-3 traps. A hard fight if you're not running a warrior shield class, and especially hard if you're under lvl19, but achievable non the less. You'll also need to gear up death, poison, and spirit resistance if you're looking to sweep the castle clean, as there are multiple NPCs who deal these different types of damage.

Best strategy to clear BRC is to head straight for the bandit kings lair. Use the secret passage located in the room with the only skeletal archers in the castle (located across from the secret door with the statue, North East hallway). Draw out the 2 outlaw archers from one side, then the other. After that, go to the hall that leads to the throne room where the king is. Have you're companion wait in the hall as you agro out the legion deserters one to two at a time untill only the king is left. Kill him, exit dungeon, save, then re-enter to clear the rest.

Total XP from Zamohr mountains- 10-12k per run
Total gold from Zamohr mountains- 8500-11000
Total real time to completion- 25-35min

Hope this helps you guys out. As exhausting as this was for me, if I helped out atleast one person it was well worth it.
Happy hunting...

Kudos for the post!

The number of bow bandits in the area make it one spot Shield Expert has it's benefits. :)

My own tracking seems to suggest overall defense is more important than death magic as the few enemies that cause it can be dealt with quickly (charge through the mob and attack the witch first etc).

I employ the same strategy for any caster/ranged NPC. Just charge through the mob and take them out. Unfortunately the other 2 classes don't have the warriors charge so death resist is a necessary defence.

Good point! The ability to charge through the leading mobs has two benefits: Allows taking out the range death damage witches before the damage adds up, and takes out the witches before they can heal other enemies. I imagine Rogues and Clerics have to have different tactics.

It's easy to notice the short-comings of a class while taken the strong aspects for granted.

I think the rogue would have the hardest time considering the cleric has death resist. Arrows, however, are a different story...

I'm also doing this one, but I stopped and instead focus on farming Golden Apples and Vorator Eggs. Vorators give decent amount of EXP and as a Cleric those Lesser Potions of Restoration and Epic Omelettes are important.

The only thing vorators give is XP. If the planets are aligned and we're about to have a solar eclipse you might get an egg. As a 2 handed specialist they take chunks out of me, so I'll prey on easier targets that r in greater numbers to yield the same, if not more, XP (with loot drops to boot) without having to hit an inn every 20 minutes.
