Time to talk about a very nice competitor!

Some fellow developer I know has been working for years on a game that is more than a game. Don't be deceived by the simple graphics, it is really fun and allows you to create your own modules and adventures:

Main page with toolset, forum, etc: http://www.iceblinkengine.com/

It really offers endless amounts of old-school tactical fun.

Players can create a game within a game, something like the Neverwinter Nights?

Yeah exactly. I haven't tried the toolset myself yet, but if anyone here makes a module I'll play it!

I actually like games such as this except for the turn-based aspect, they can make infinite playthroughs and only imagination is the limit. If you've gone successful in desktop platform I hope to see kind of games like this from your creation. :)

We'll spoof EK in a module for Iceblink. An invisible swamp donkey will be the final boss.

You want to know about the Invisible Swamp Donkey? Bring some Friguld rum to the campfire and maybe one of the old timers will tell you..... maybe.
