the Ark would be very interesting. lightning bolt and mage barrier can certainly take you through the ark basically unscathed if you're somewhat careful to keep your distance and avoid being swarmed... but you'd need insane amounts of manna.

can you wield a shield? or is that too warlike, and it's orbs and totems only?

That's a great strategy, there's also summoning a Sparkling against those steel wizards, probably the only unimportant wizards in the list.
Besides, we need to make up for the cool down on some of the spells, -it's going to be a though one.

my next question was going to be whether summoning was allowed or too physical. but I guess if we insisted on a pure elementalist spell caster things would get pretty boring once you used all your skill points on basic skills. the rest would have to go into defensive advanced skills given the limited options.

It's just level 3, There's going to be plenty of skill points to invest in defense, my aiming is taking full offensive, but I'm yet to figure out some other ideas, apparently, we will have to choose carefully, there's no room for everything...

Well shields are not technically weapons in this game (in real life they can be) but the totem is my choice, in order to get an extra storm or fireball, a shield helps you to survive, but if you dry off, you will have to run.

Hey Trace! I've been writing down ideas for this challenge since we talked, and I'm already playtesting it, and seriously it's awesome!!! Never thought it would be so powerful and so fun!!!

After the legendary ARCANE KNIGHTS of Thuram, I present you the brand new Mage subclass, the ARCANE WEAVERS of Thuram! ;)

At level 8 I got into Icemist and joined the guild. Now I need gold to learn Earth Mastery. I want to boost my Lightning and Ice Storm spells too, then I want the electrified force field skill, one of my favorites. And also Combustion. I just need 12 487 more skill points... Lolll But it's really powerful, and I never lacked mana (I obviously had to pick many items that give bonus to mana pool).

Here are the rules I like the most right now:
- No weapons (punches and/or bitch slaps only)
- No shields (orbs, totems, figurines, satchel ok)

- Companions: no restrictions
- Summons: no restrictions
- Charm spell: control the minds of humans and have them fight to protect you. (Mercenaries, Teram, Rodney, Niur, Zenmo, etc.)

Forbidden access to:
- Ashen Cape
- The Ark
- Icemist Sewers

Here are the objectives I think would be most fun:

Defeat your 4 friends from wizard school:
- The Necromancer Twins, in Nayau Tomb and Mercian Royal Crypt
- Primzar, Specialist in Transmogrification, in Nilorth Cave
- Azeran, Demon Summoner with a god complex, in Lannegar Valley

Defeat your professor from wizard school:
- Professor Dorphis Greyrune, in Icemist

Defeat your father, because he was mean or something loll:
- Arcane Knight Sir Valeran, in Dragon Coast

And the grand finale, to win the challenge, get Adaon to piss off Janod in Kinsbridge, then:
- Stage a COUP D'ETAT IN ICEMIST! Murder everyone!!! (Ignore the respawns.) Conquer the city and become the new ARCANE WEAVER KING!

What do you think?

Darn!!! You are already level 9. I was thinking I had advantage 😆

It's a great addition, but admittedly I wanted to be friends with Icemist, well rescuing Breno is a rebellious act, since the queen send him to die, -maybe saving the world as an alternative to destroying our sister's homeland?

We could make a double challenge, with an ORDER version (yours) and a CHAOS version (mine). Or "Loyal" version vs "Betrayal" version, or something like that.

Idea:
LOYALIST: In your version, the Arcane Weaver hero graduated from wizard school and wants to save the rightful heir to the throne of Thuram, Prince Breno. His cousin the young queen is an usurper and had Breno exiled in the sewers to take his throne.

CHAOS: In my version, the Arcane Weaver hero was bullied and expelled from wizard school, and wants revenge against the system. He murders all his school collegues and teachers, then tries to take over Thuram and take the throne.
