Can anybody give me hints as to how I can kill the Elemental Lord in the Forgotten Fortress? I have looked at his stats on wiki and it seems he is practically invincible and will definitely kick your ass.

For clarity, the Elemental Lord is the ultra-tough ice golem. Not to be confused with the other high-level monsters in that immediate area.

He's a tough boss so don't expect to take him on until the late game. Likely well after you can beat the nearby ice dragon.

Basic boss fighting tactics will serve you well.

Equipment: He hits hard with physical and ice attacks so gear up that way. End game gear (Sunken Citadel, Ark etc) will help with the physical attacks. The Elemental Lord has a decent fire resistance so you might find Adamantite and other anti-outsider weapons (Banishing as an attribute) do better than fire weapons. That depends a lot on your build, your traits and your weapons.

Supplies: Heal, buff and summon supplies will serve you well. You and your companion should drink potions like a pirate on frigul rum. That includes ice resistance potions, armour potions, attack potions, and your best summons. End-game healing potions are very useful here. Note: if you're taking the beating, a fire summons might do more damage, but if you need your summons to take the beating, earth, ice or iron summons will help. (There's an unique single-use item in the game that lets anyone summon an iron golem. Scrolls of Circle of Restoration are nifty, too.

Try to make sure you fight him alone. That means taking care of nearby enemies first and trying to keep from getting overwhelmed.

He's tough, but very beatable. And he's easy in comparison to the lazy boss hiding nearby.....

If warrior/rogue, use adamantite weapons. If cleric use maul of terror/righteousness. If mage, use wand of power/staff of impact.

Hello. I have another question about this boss. He s tough and lvl25 but beating him is atteignable. For my part i have a problem which is : 4 other monsters are along with him (a 21 white dragon, two 18 ice elementals and a devil). I cannot pull the elemental nor any other monster alone. Do you have any tips about how to adress this problem ?
Thanks by advance.

I already beat the pit, tos, king korne, some other bosses just lack soh and both this elemental and the demon in the next room (this last seems very hard to defeat).

And i will never finish all 97 quests because i sold the silvery mace by error...

Summons help. You can let the summons take on someone and die, but gives you a few seconds to run away to help spread out the group.

Telling you Companion to "wait here" pretty far back in the dungeon will let you lure one or two of the beasts back without having tripping over each other.

Scrolls of Circle of Restoration are very, very useful.

No more problem with the lord ! I managed to pull the other monsters one or two at a time and that was easy after. Tve fight was long but not so tough with the lord alone (mage elementalist 24 + hirge tank 22).

Thanks ! I try to tell my companion to stay and that was a good solution. Yes.

For the summon i used ice elementals. They dealt very few damages but take very few and was attacked by the ice elementals (lvl 13). Thanks again for the tips.

Now i will try the demon but it seems very very very tough. 142 dps, high elemental resistances, very hugely armored, and a decent amount of hp !

If you're using a mage, get Death Fog, the skill from the Arcane Knights on Icemist that deals death damage (I never remember the proper names).

More important than any damage thou, is the slow effect of the cloud.

Lure the lazy demon to the room with a big table, use Death Cloud (or Fog or whatever), and keep hitting him with your staff (and if you have staff mastery, you'll add yet another slow effect) and just keep hitting him with your staff and your skill while you keep running on circles around the table.

Not very glorious, I know, but also very easy.

Also if you use Hirge as companion, give her intervention and stack up lot of mana pots, she's hard to kill that way, just give her mana before she dies. And don't let her use any active skills like healing. That tactic helped me with every enemy on Ironman

Alright bro, as a guy who has defeated this boss several times, I suggest you use the restoration scroll and Galad's elixir, for me it was a piece of cake

The complicated part is that this boss is just a mere receptionist for the real boss, Uncle Kalagru, I only managed to kill him 3 times, and with great difficulty.

Good ol' Kalagru is hard for any meelers or ranged without slow. With ranged and slow it is boring but fairly easy.

Archer Rogues can just use traps and a rain of arrows. Mages with Death Cloud and Staff basic attacks are just the same in this.

I haven't even tried to do it with any melee class. Cleric might in theory be alright after a million mana potions and a million interventions, Rogue Assassin may be able to finish him fast enough by using Hirge to aggro, but Warrior is probably some real challenge to achieve it.
