Bandits are murderers seeking to loot your corpse.

The difference between a Bandit and a Thief is Bandits do not have names, only class types such as Assassin, Bandit, Outlaw, etc., whereas thieves all have a name and all participate in some way in quests.

Bandits are by default violently anonymous; they are ambushers, waylayers, robbers, and highwaymen. They typically have no dialogue, if they have any it is of the likes of "stand and deliver" or "time to die."
