Not all "dragons" are actually dragons, there are some lesser types. True dragons are ancient and supremely powerful, known to come in three distinct types: red fire-breathing dragons, white frost-bite dragons, and green dragons with a toxic spittle. They are beings of such immense power goblinkind worship them as gods, so their entry is repeated from the humanoids section.
But there are also lesser cousins of each type: fiery red drakes and icy white drakes, and poisonous green wyverns. Are these lesser offspring related to the larger kind, perhaps even infant or juvenile forms that grow and morph into a mature dragons? With lifespans that last centuries, perhaps millennia, all we know for certain is that we do not know for sure. But we do know they are neither outsiders nor beasts, even the lesser forms, suggesting an indigenous nobility to them all.
