Backstory

Duremas the Sage was once a priest of The Three, a strong and learned man, respected by those he instructed, with "a spirt as hard as Imperial blue-steel". But he read ancient adventure novel The Oppalan Frontier and it has driven him insane. He stole the book, murdered guards and priests, and fled to a lair in an abandoned mine.
