Notes
- Some of the stats change with creature level and game mode. The values shown in the table above always refer to the highest level at Normal difficulty. On Hard or Iron Man some values such as HP and attack stats are increased by 25%.
- Getting one of the crafted Rings requires 30 (!!) Emeralds, so the earlier in the game you start saving them up and never selling them, the less daunting that will be. Grinding for emeralds can be a real drag, but it's entirely possible to reach this point in the game having just slowly accumulated 30, if you're aware of the eventual need from the start.
- For those who need to farm those Emeralds, the top drop rates in the game are found at:
- Guardian elementals on the streets of City of the Ancients (40%)
- Chests in the Sunken Citadel (29%)
- Corpses in the Mausoleum's Traitor's Pit area (21%)
- Sarcophagi in the Mercian Royal Crypt, which drop at 16.4% (4x) and 11.4% (4x)
- Manticores, e.g. in Emerald Valley (15%)
- Chests and Sarcophagi in the City of the Ancients (13.5%)
- No actual Lore is disclosed during Loremistress. The XP gain is theoretically unlimited, but uneconomical compared to high-level dungeons - grinding for emeralds is not worthwhile.
- That said, if you happen to acquire enough emeralds late-game, the XP gain is worth more than selling them to Orduc of Solliga for 400 each, as 10 emeralds are worth 4,000 Gold to him, or 5,000 XP here. That ratio compares favorably to, for example, the altar in The Hall of Wisdom.
- after completing The Lost Kingdom, the aggressive conversation option is removed, and senior Minotaurs can no longer be looted.
