An old Praetor running an Outpost for the greatness of Mercia.
Backstory
A veteran assigned to run the Outpost at the Oasis.
The military justification for this Outpost is reconnaissance of the wildlands, but that would normally be a small affair. The nobility campaigned for full Outpost status and Royal Command decreed. Now the nobility use the town to conduct illicit trade and Praetor Jenard, being wiser than to make innumerable powerful enemies he doesn't need to, leaves them to it.
He is particularly concerned about a mirmek hive in the southern mountains.
