Skill

From Exiled Kingdoms Wiki

See page Skill Table for a basic description of all skills.

Character skills are what truly defines heroes: they are the abilities, actions and benefits that shape how your character plays, and in particular, how they will fight. As players progress through the game, their choice of skills and the synergy between them will be the difference between epic success and dismal failure. Skill points are relatively limited so specialization is advised, for example a Warrior would be advised to choose either Two Handed Expert or Shield Expert.

Many advanced skills have trait, skill or faction prerequisites before they can be learned. Note that any such trait prerequisites are evaluated without benefit of any equipment bonuses; you need to be able to meet the requirement "naturally".

Skill Scores and Points

Each level, a character gains two skill points. These skill points can be used to raise skill levels, that is, the actual level of the skill your character has. Each skill has its own number of levels (from 2 to 4) and different costs per level.

Take an example the skill Charge that has 4 levels with a cost of 1/1/2/3

Charge Level Skill Point Cost Starting From 0
1 1
2 1 + 1 = 2
3 1 + 1 + 2 = 4
4 1 + 1 + 2 + 3 = 7

Resetting Skill points

  • You can reset your character's skills and redistribute skill points by talking to an NPC qualified to do so. They can also reset trait points, or remove your advanced skills. The cost is steep and escalates per reset.
  • They can also reset companion's trait and skill points, again for a substantial gold fee. Your companion cannot reset their advanced skills.

Extra Skill points

Aside from the skill points gained by leveling up, there are a few additional skill points available within the game, including:

Cleric Skills

Mage Skills

Rogue Skills
