Description
Each rank of vicious grants +2 damage to enemies with less than 30% of their health remaining.
It is highly useful when facing creatures with very high hitpoints such as bosses, and can "finish off" weaker creatures before they get a final counterattack.
DPS does not take into account Vicious. To roughly calculate actual damage bonus divide the weapon speed by 10, multiply that by +2 per rank, then multiply the result by 0.3
One tactic can be to switch to vicious weapons when a strong boss is at 1/3 health, this maximises their damage bonuses.
