Beast Table |
These incredibly dangerous Magical Creatures seem to seek mines and other excavations where larger prey is available. Yes, human prey. And to make matters horrifyingly worse, they kill their prey by paralyzing then first with venom then eating them alive, while the terrified victim is fully conscious and feeling indescribable pain and despair.
Perhaps due to the specific nature of the Icemist sewers, those mutated versions and the common versions found in Varsilia have different resistances. The common ilk have a weakness to shock damage, but resist other elements, whereas the mutated variants in the Sewer of Horrors have strong resistances including shock, but - strangely - do not resist poisons or death magics.
To avoid paralysis seek high Spirit resistance, plus specialist armor. Warriors can train against the effects, or give in to rage.
Worms are Beasts and so are vulnerable to Beast Slayer Weapons.
Carrion EaterEven the least of the horror worms are dangerous beyond reckoning. Efforts to study Carrion Eaters have been thwarted by the fact that it is hard to survive an encounter with them. It has been observed by the rare survivors that a victim of a Carrion Eater may just stand motionless while the Carrion Eater feasts upon their flesh... A high Spirit resistance allows a potential victim the chance to escape paralysis and run away. LocationsQuestsDrops

Carrion Lord
Perhaps oldest, certainly the strongest, Mutant Devourer in the world. It grows and thrives in the belly of Icemist, constantly growing and gorging on arcane discard to the point it has become obscenely strong. Even the most experienced and curious Loreseeker or Achmage would hesitate to research this creature, the first and oldest of the magically mutated Devourers, for it has it has grown so obscenely strong it verges on ascendance. A high Spirit resistance allows a victim to move freely as he is eaten alive. LocationsQuests

DevourerEither the matured version of the Carrion Eater or perhaps a related cousin, these are terrors that even the most seasoned veterans shy away from. While Carrion Eaters feast on human flesh with minimal resistance, part of that is due to the proximity of the superior Devourers. Larger with thicker armor, stronger bites, and an even more dangerously paralysing stinger tail, there is no shame in being frozen in fright by these monsters. No shame, but much danger. A high Spirit resistance allows a potential victim the chance to escape paralysis and run away. LocationsQuestsDrops

Mutant DevourerMutated Devourers are abominations even the most legendary heroes shy away from. Even the Loreseekers make no mention of these abomination worms, for they have festered and grown and evolved unseen and unmolested in the under-nether of Icemist and to witness them is to be consumed by them. A high Spirit resistance allows a victim a slight chance to escape paralysis and run away. LocationsQuestsDrops
