This is a Passive Skill that adds to your stats for "chance of finding secrets." This increases your chance of finding traps before you stumble into them. This also increases your chances of spotting secret doors. When you are in a dungeon, and you find a secret door, that door will glow with magic effects rising from it. If you see that glow, you can then walk over to the door and open it, and then the door will no longer be hidden from you. If both you and your current companion have stats for "chance for finding secrets", only the character with the higher stats will try to find secrets.
