There are numerous secret doors to be found throughout the Exiled Kingdoms, mostly hidden within dungeons and often leading to valuable treasures as well as dangerous creatures guarding them.

Detecting Secrets

In order to detect secret doors you need a high percentage of Perception, an ability granted by investing Trait Points into Awareness and Intellect as well as wearing special equipment with attribute Detection. If you stand close to a secret door, dices are rolled every few seconds to determine whether you detect this door or not. Once a door is detected and opened, you don't have to find it again (provided you made it out of the dungeon alive).

Please note that the actual chance for finding a secret also depends on the level difference between your character (or companion) and the specific door, with a ±3% bonus/malus applied to the Perception value per level difference. This bonus is capped at +15% if the character's level is far above that of the door. Unfortunately, there is no such cap in the negative direction, meaning that some high level doors can not be detected by low level characters unless they use special items (e.g. Scroll of Detection) or skills (e.g. Thelume's Wisdom).
