As players progress through the game their choice of skills and the synergy between them will be the difference between epic success and dismal failure. Skill points are relatively limited so specialisation is advised, for example a Warrior would be advised to choose either Two Handed Expert or Shield Expert. Note that many advanced skills have trait, skill or faction prerequisites before they can be learnt.
Skill Scores and Points
Each level, a character gains two skill points. Additional skill points can also be gained by reading the exceedingly rare Tomes of Lost Wisdom. These skill points can be used to raise skill levels, that is, the actual level of the skill your character has. Each skill has its own number of levels (from 2 to 4) and different costs per level.
Take an example the skill Charge that has 4 levels with a cost of 1/1/2/3
