After giving the third Idol to [[Sage Amaryl]], a [[nightwalker]] will spawn, lowering your reputation with Ilmara by 10. This can be a tough fight despite its low level because it has high resistance to all elements except shock. If you go into any building or sleep at an Inn, the [[nightwalker]] will despawn, permanently leaving you with the reputation loss. Killing the [[nightwalker]] will restore your reputation with Ilmara.

Quest Overview

Quest Steps

    • Idol 1 - Chest in the north side of the southern section of Nivar Wetlands
    • Idol 2 - Corpse on West side of Great Plains against the northern bank of the river.

Detailed Walkthrough

Sage Amaryl is located in Nivarian, right outside the purchasable Nivarian house.

The first Ancient Idol is located in a chest in the southern part of the Nivar Wetlands. To get there, you'll need to go through Rhoneis Plains . There is a narrow pass to the north-east which is the only way to this part of the Nivar Wetlands. The two threats are low-level Swamp Scavengers and trolls, so bring a weapon with fire damage.

The second Idol is in the middle of Great Plains, surrounded by trees, just west of the river. You may get swarmed by some sabercats, and you'll have to fight one or two Sabercat Alphas to get to the corpse. (If you haven't already completed Defending the Outpost, keep the Silver Longsword from the corpse, it'll save you 1,000 gold).

The third Idol is in Azagul Tomb, and the entrance is near the chest with the first Idol. In Azagul Tomb, ignore the skeletons in the cage, and go north. All of the red squares are high-level spike traps, so go around those. Next, follow the hallway east and activate the poison trap by walking on the gray area. In the northeast corner, there is a lever that shuts off the poison and lets you out. This requires level 2 Awareness, Adaon as a companion, or a Scroll of Recall to escape. The chest has the last Idol.

After giving the third Idol to Sage Amaryl, a nightwalker will spawn, lowering your reputation with Ilmara by 10. This can be a tough fight despite its low level because it has high resistance to all elements except shock. If you go into any building or sleep at an Inn, the nightwalker will despawn, permanently leaving you with the reputation loss. Killing the nightwalker will restore your reputation with Ilmara.
