There are four primary weapon types: 2-handed, 1-handed, light, and ranged weapons. Within these types, there are many secondary weapon types. Weapon types are displayed in light blue on the Character Sheet, along with Weapon Attributes.

2-Handed

These weapons are quite heavy so require a great deal of Strength and specialized training as a Warrior to wield. Warriors can advance their prowess even further with the Two Handed Expert advanced skill.

Hand

One-handed weapons, or just hand weapons for short, are of average weight but require some martial training to use. As a general rule, Warriors can use any of these weapons, Rogues can use longswords, and Clerics can use maces.

Light

These weapons are very light and can be easily concealed. Warriors can wield the greatest range though some are for Rogues only. Clerics can use hammers and several daggers.

Ranged

These weapons are quite bulky, some of them are infused with pure elemental offensive power so it require specialized training as a Warrior, Rogue or Mage to wield. The three mentioned classes can learn the advanced skill Precision Shots, Warrior and Rogue can learn Rapid Fire. Only Rogues, however, due to their natural agility can truly be trained in Archery while the Mage can learn both Staff Mastery and Wand Mastery.

Off-Hand

These weapons are used in conjunction with one-handed weapons or light weapons. Many are for Rogues alone, but Warriors can use several. An off-hand weapon with a Fire enchantment will kill Trolls.
