Lore
Against the eastern shore of the Northern Bluemist River is a new colony of Varsillians who are in the process of building a small town. Life on the frontier is hard, with Goblins and Mirmeks constantly attacking the settlement; there is also the threat of undead leaving the Kleyou Tomb. However, the lure of easy wealth has brought intrepid settlers to the area. With rich mineral deposits of rubies in the hills to the north, as well as gold being found in the gravel beds of the river, even these dangers can not keep these hardy souls at bay for long.
Eventually, if the colony lasts, it may one day attract enough traffic that the ferries and boats passing along the river will stop, thus allowing transport to other locations. However, that day is far off in the future for this fledging unnamed settlement. First they must deal with the multitude of threats they face...
Explorers of the area may note that there is a small lake with no feeder streams leading into it, only the flow headed to join the Bluemist. Currently it is unknown how the lake fills, sages familiar with the region speculate that there is an underground spring of some sort filling the depression. Other more grandiose theories have been given over time as well, with outrageous tales of magical items or mythical beasts being the source of the mysterious lake.
Notes
- After completing the quest Hunting Bugs!, the Mirmek Hatchlings will no longer spawn.
